A Portfolio of Our Work

This website showcases the miniature therapy horse visit program we created in 2017. Following the pandemic, we offered in-person visits at some of the largest long-term care homes in Toronto, along with hospices and educational venues. We closed our business in September 2023 to manage family responsibilities after our father’s passing. However, our passion for sharing our horses with the community has not diminished.

HARLOWBLUE MINIATURE THERAPY HORSE VISIT PROGRAM

Creating Connection from the Ground Up

HarlowBlue Minis was created to offer participants an opportunity to experience the joy of seeing a little horse, right where they live. We designed our program around the principles of trust, connection and safety — qualities we felt were essential for therapeutic work.

Our program was based on collaborating with community organizations, so that we could support their important work. With our horses welfare of paramount concern, we worked with organizations to create consistent experiences with the support of a staff escort, pre-visit tour and a written visit plan that detailed everything from parking to COVID screening.

The horses arrived for every visit freshly bathed, calm and ready to greet people. For us, every detail mattered, from the way we handled the horses at home to the way they were presented to participants.

Driving home after a community visit always left us full of emotion — grateful, proud, and deeply touched. We’d replay the moments, the smiles, the quiet connections. Our horses had done something really special, and it meant the world to see that it mattered.
